This laboratory is used for research on advanced composite materials and polymer materials reinforced with glass, carbon, or nanoparticles, which are among the fundamental research areas of Materials Engineering. Research is generally conducted on the development and production of composite materials, improving existing approaches, or developing innovative approaches. This laboratory produces fiber-reinforced thermoset composite materials using the Resin Transfer Method and Vacuum Infusion Method, and fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite materials using the Hot Stamping Machine and Plastic Injection Machine. Nano-reinforcements such as carbon nanotubes and graphene can also be incorporated into the produced composite and polymer materials to develop innovative materials.
