A technical field trip was conducted to Merida Park Equipment's Kavak facility on March 25, 2026, coordinated by our faculty member Prof. Dr. Özgür Demircan and with the organizational contributions of our student Dursun Can Hirik, who is also working as an intern engineer at Merida Park Equipment. During the trip, our student actively participated in the technical explanation of production processes and the management of the organization, making a significant contribution to university-industry collaboration.

The technical trip provided an opportunity to observe the company's rotational molding and plastic shaping processes on-site. During the visit, which covered all critical stages from polymer raw material to the final production of park equipment, the process of shaping LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) raw material in biaxial rotational ovens under high temperatures was first examined in the production facility. Technical information was provided on the oven technologies, cycle times, and mold designs used in this stage. Following this, the finishing and assembly unit was visited, where the surface treatment, quality control, and outdoor resistance (UV stabilization) processes of the products coming out of the mold were observed. The focus was on the safe integration of plastic components with metal constructions.

This technical field trip provided students with the opportunity to gain practical knowledge in polymer technologies and industrial design processes; it reinforced their theoretical knowledge and made significant contributions to their professional development and production vision.
